Venus Fly Traps
(Dionaea)

The Venus flytrap is one of the very few carnivorous plants that exhibits motion to actively trap its prey.

Monkey Cups
(Nepenthes)

Nepenthes aka tropical pitcher plants, or monkey cups, develop pitches at the ends of their leaves which are used to lure and trap insects.

Trumpet Pitchers
(Sarracenia)

Tall trumpet shaped pitchers, that catch endless bugs, make this plant the most successful bug catcher around.

Sundews
(Drosera)

Sundews trap prey using a super sticky substance on their leaves. They make up one of the largest groups of carnivorous plants.

Australian Pitcher
(Cephalotus)

A low grower that has both leaves and pitchers. The leaves photosynthesize while the pitchers trap prey.

Sun Pitchers
(Heliamphora)

One of the more challenging species to grow, Sun Pitchers are the pride of anyone's collection and will sure to attract attention.

Butterwort
(Pinguicula)

Butterworts also use sticky, glandular leaves to lure, trap, and digest insects. The sticky leaves are often coated in hundreds of little corpses.

Bladderworts
(Utricularia)

This carnivore catches its prey underground. When hairs at the opening trigger, organisms are sucked into the trap like a vacuum.

Cobra Lily
(Darlingtonia)

Cobra Lilies are one of the most challenging plants to grow. But get it right, and this plant is one of the most beautiful carnivores to have in your collection.
