Description
Carnivorous plants naturally grow in nutrient-poor soils, so the medium you plant them in needs to replicate these conditions closely. Our General Carnivorous Soil Mix is a simple, reliable blend of pure, nutrient-free, pH-balanced sphagnum peat moss and perlite, designed to support healthy root growth without introducing unwanted nutrients.
This versatile mix is suitable for most carnivorous plants, including Venus Flytraps, Sarracenia, and Sundews, providing the right balance of moisture retention and airflow.
The Blend
50% sphagnum peat moss (pH 3.6–4.4)
50% agricultural-grade, large particle-sized perlite
Mix thoroughly before use, as settling may occur during storage. Always pre-dampen the medium before planting, as dry peat is naturally water-repellent and needs time to absorb moisture properly.
