Carnivorous plants naturally grow in nutrient-poor environments, so their growing medium needs to replicate these conditions closely. Our Nepenthes Soil Mix is a carefully balanced blend of pure, nutrient-free, pH-balanced peat moss, perlite, and sphagnum moss, designed to support healthy root growth without the risk of waterlogging.
Light, airy, and moisture-retentive, this mix provides excellent drainage while maintaining the humidity Nepenthes roots love. It is also well suited to Heliamphora and Darlingtonia, making it a versatile choice for highland carnivorous plants.
The Blend
1 part standard carnivorous soil mix (peat moss & perlite)
1 part sphagnum moss
1 part perlite
Each bag contains approximately the volume of a 2-litre jug.
Mix thoroughly before use, as settling may occur during storage. Always pre-dampen the medium before planting, as dry peat is naturally water-repellent and needs time to absorb moisture.
