All plants sold at Currys Post Carnivores will not need to be re-potted for at least a year. We ensure that, before they are shipped off to their new forever homes, the pot size is appropriate enough to last at least 12 months. However, there will come a time when you will need to repot into a bigger pot, and my previous blog REPOTTING 101 will cover this. However, there will also come a time when the pot fills up with several “offspring” from the mother plant, and the pot may get overcrowded, or you want to split those babies into their own pots and increase your collection. This blog will cover the “How To Do That” :-)

This process is best done towards the end of winter or early Spring (middle of August to beginning September). As you will be cutting into a live Rhizome, which is equivalent to amputating your leg so you want to make sure that it causes as little stress to the plant as possible so that it can recover nicely. And as for any major surgery, you want to ensure your equipment is clean and sanitised!
